Shankarabanda Satya Simha, is professionally a Mineral Engineer by education and career, and by choice is a Sri Aurobindonian. Hailing from Ballari, he has served in his profession in public sectors viz., Hindustan Copper Limited, Bharat Gold Mines for 18 years. He has also served in Botswana (Africa), Oman and Kyrgyzstan as a mineral processing expert and adviser for 9 years. He retired from his professional life in 2015 to devote himself to the cause of the Mother and Sri Aurobindo of Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Pondicherry. He has served as Secretary of Sri Aurobindo Society State Committee Karnakata, based in J.P. Nagar, Bengaluru for 8 years.
He has studied the Vedanta Philosophies of Shri Shankaracharya and Shri Madhvacharya for 15 years and followed the literature of Shri Ramakrishna – Swami Vivekananda and Paramahansa Yogananda for 10 years. Later, since 1990, he has turned to Sri Aurobindo’s and the Mother’s writings/ works and studied them deeply and ardently for 33 years. All his writings stem from his deeper understanding of the vision and philosophy of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother.
Presently, he is the most active writer in Kannada about Sri Aurobindonian thought. He has published more than 50 books in Kannada on Sri Aurobindo’s works and thought, as abridgements and essays, covering most of the works of the Master and the Mother.
Sri Simha is a poet also and has published 5 collections of his poems so far. He has produced 5 audio CDs of songs of his poems, mostly based on the teachings of the Mother and Sri Aurobindo. He has visited many centres and branches of Sri Aurobindo Society in Karnataka to give talks on the teachings and visions of the Masters.
Sri Simha is closely associated with SAKSHI (Sri Aurobindo Kapali Sastry Institute of Vedic Culture, Bengaluru) and most of his books are published by this Institute and its sister publications.
He has served the Yalavatti Branch of Sri Aurobindo Society for 20 years and is one of the founders of Society School in that village.
